As your Local Government Councillor representative, here are my top 5 for thegladstone region

Community First

01

Back to Basics

Like you, I am a local resident of Gladstone. I want to see great services being delivered to the Gladstone region. I have listened and heard that our community wants to ensure that the delivery of our Local Roads,  Water and Waste services, Town & Land planning, Animal control services; continues to be received and maintained in the most sustainable economic manner.

02

Economic & Business Growth through Diversification

As a Business Owner, and member of Gladstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), I know the significant role that small & medium businesses play within our community and our Gladstone Region. With my knowledge and experience, I know I can be a strong voice who can advocate and ensure that small & medium businesses can continue to grow in a sustainable momentum and that job creation with opportunities for more home-grown manufacturing within the Gladstone Region also continues to grow.

03

Powering the Next Generation Through Innovation

As an active and engaged community member I have been actively involved with the community consultation and feedback in the development of the Gladstone Regional Councils 10-year Economic Transition Roadmap.

It is important to have members of community, like me, who have been involved from the "grass roots level" to be able to ensure that Gladstone remains in a prime position to respond to these once-in-a-generation changes in the energy sector. Thus, being able to create a region that leads the way in powering our nation.

04

Celebration & Connection

People & Places.

As a volunteer with Gladstone Regional Council Events team, a volunteer as an Airport and Cruise Ship Ambassador with GAPDL, and a volunteer at Boyne Tannum Arts Business and Community Assoc Inc - BAM. I have heard many times from community members and visitors to our region of how significant and important it is that  our region  continues  grow and support events which continue to create vibrant, adaptive communities within our Gladstone region.

05

Community Safety

As an Advisory Committee Member for GAPDL - Communities for Children, I have heard the call from community to ensure that community safety is continuing to be recognized as a priority by our Gladstone Regional Council and the need for all sections of the community, to work together to continue to create and ensure we all have a safer environment for people to work, live and travel. This means continuing to build partnerships between police, government agencies, local council, community organizations and individuals to promote community safety.

Ready to serve in 2024

My heart is bursting with passion for my community and the knowledge I've gained through my experiences and education.

“I believe that service to our community is not just a responsibility but a privilege and I am committed to continuing my work as a volunteer and advocate. For me, serving my community is neither a job or a task, it's a calling that fills me with purpose and drives me forward every day.”

My studies at QUT Pathways to Politics for Women, has ignited a fire within me to take the next step and run for Local Government.

I’ve dedicated my life to serving the community and advocating for its members, and I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for local government as a Councillor in the 2024 elections.

Through my extensive experience in community service, volunteerism, and leadership, I am confident that I possess the necessary skills and qualities to represent the people of this community and make a positive impact in our local government.

As a Councillor, I will listen to the needs and concerns of our community members, and I will work collaboratively with my fellow Councillors to create policies and programs that benefit the whole community.

With your support, I am excited to begin this journey and make a meaningful difference in our community. I am passionate about being an enabler for bringing together members of the community to share, learn, experience, and explore opportunities for collaboration. It fills me with empathy to work alongside such a diverse group of people within our region. As a mother and a member of this community, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to pass on a positive and sustainable legacy that will benefit future generations.

“With your endorsement and vote, I am confident that we can work together to create a brighter future for our local community. Let us inspire and support continued innovation, connection, and diversification.”

By pioneering with today's community, we can create a better tomorrow.
